Padma Bhushan, Dr. L. H. Hiranandani

Winner of the Dhanvantri award

He was born in 1917 in Thatta, Sindh (now Pakistan). Done
medical studies in 1942 with the help of his relatives. In 1946 he looked at the FRCS
from England, it returned to India and there was no Indian one
leading ENT surgeons. In 1947 he joined the national Topiwala
Medical College by BYL Nair Hospital Mumbai as Honorary ENT
surgeon until retirement. After that, he was nominated by the Bombay Municipality
Organization such as Professor Emeritus and Departmental Adviser
Otolaryngology and Head and Neck and worked until the age of 65. At
currently attached to Bombay Hospital, Breach Candy Hospital as well
Jaslok Hospital. He is a member of the Executive Council of Hyderabad
(Sindh) National College Board. He wrote the book “Path Pathology”
and has made significant contributions to national and international medicine

Dr. Hiranandani has been awarded many Public and Professional

of Head and Neck Surgery as its first member from India. In 1987 he
received a Gold medal from the International Federation of Otolaryngology
and the General Assembly and became the fifth person in the world
and the first in India to receive the award. Dr. Hiranandani has been
has been invited as a guest speaker at international conferences held
Canada. Indonesia, Japan. S.Korea and the USA In the year 2000 he was present
awarded “The ENT and Head and Neck Surgeon of the Millennium”
title by AOL, “Doctor of the Millennium” award for SAARC countries.
He has developed many well-known operating techniques
known as “Dr. Hiranandani’s work” worldwide.
