NEW DELHI: Outgoing lieutenant governor Puducherry Kiran Bedi today said whatever work done was a sacred duty fulfilling her constitutional and moral responsibilities.
A day after she was removed as the lieutenant governor of the Union Territory, the former IPS officer on Wednesday thanked the Centre for a life time experience in serving Puducherry. “I thank the Government of India for a lifetime experience in serving Puducherry, as its governor,” she said.

Bedi, who has been at loggerheads with V Narayasamy government over a range of issues, said “TeamRajNivas” worked diligently to serve the larger public interest.
“Thank all those who were a part of my journey as lieutenant governor . The people of Puducherry and all the public officials,” Bedi tweeted today morning, along with a statement.

On Tuesday night, Kiran Bedi was removed from her post at a time when the union territory was witnessing a political crisis following the resignation of Congress MLAs from the V Narayanasamy government.
President Ram Nath Kovind gave the additional charge of the union territory to Telengana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan “with effect from the date she assumes charge of her office until regular arrangements for the office of lieutenant governor of Puducherry are made”.
The direction from the President comes amid the political crisis where the ruling Congress-led government has been reduced to a minority after one more MLA quit the party on Tuesday.
