BATHINDA: After US Vice President Kamala Harris’ niece Meena Harris, pop star Rihanna, Swedish Climate Activist Greta Thunberg, a score of social activists, politicians from across the countries, now Indo-Canadian YouTuber Lilly Singh has raised voice in support of farmers. While heading for Grammy Award evening she supported a mask writing #Istandwithfarmers and uploaded the picture on micro blogging site twitter. In the tweet, Lilly Singh wrote “I know red carpet/award show pictures always get the most coverage, so here you go media. Feel free to run with it”.
The 32 years Lilly Singh has 5.5 million followers on twitter and preferred to use the social media platform to raise her voice.
Earlier she had appreciated the step of Rihanna of raising voice for farmers writing why aren’t we talking about this as Rihanna’ tweet had triggered a global support for the cause of the farmers.
Apart from these Canada’ New Democratic Party head Jagmeet Singh, UK MP Tanmanjit Singh Dhesi, Hollywood veteran actor Susan Sarandon, actor Amanda Cerni, former adult star Mia Khalifa and lot more noted personalities too have raised voice in support of farmers, who are into protests at the borders of Delhi for over three and half months and for the last three days had campaigned against central government in poll bound West Bengal.
