The Border Security Force (BSF) successfully foiled a large-scale infiltration attempt along the International Border in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir on the intervening night of May 8 and 9, 2025, gunning down at least seven terrorists during the operation.
The forces also inflicted extensive damage on the Pakistan Post Dhandhar, from where the infiltration attempt was believed to be being facilitated.
“On 8-9 May 2025, BSF foiled a major infiltration bid at the International Boundary in Samba district, J&K by killing at least seven terrorists and causing extensive damage to the Pakistan Post Dhandhar,” said a BSF source.
It also shared a thermal imager clip of the destruction of the said post.
The operation comes amid heightened tensions along the western front following multiple ceasefire violations and drone attacks reported in the region. The BSF said it remains on high alert to thwart any attempts by terrorists to exploit the volatile situation.
As part of Operation Sindoor, India has successfully launched an attack on JeM training grounds and hideouts in Pakistan. The coordinated and measured attacks on the terror camps were in response to the Pakistan terror group’s involvement in the killing of 26 tourists at Pahalgam on April 22.
The infiltration attempts by Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists with the help of Pak Rangers on Thursday night, coincided with the attempted attacks at different places in Jammu, Pathankot, and Jaisalmer by Pakistan.
The Indian Army said in a statement – Pakistan Armed Forces launched multiple attacks using drones and other munitions along entire Western Border on the intervening night of 08 and 09 May 2025. Pak troops also resorted to numerous cease fire violations (CFVs) along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir. The drone attacks were effectively repulsed, and befitting reply was given to the CFVs. Indian Army remains committed to safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Nation. All nefarious designs will be responded with force.”
