After the joining ceremony, Alok praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his policies which have inspired the entire country.

“It’s not a day to say much. The party works for the welfare of the poor and the deprived and if I can contribute even 1% to the Modi mission, it will be a matter of pride for me,” he said.

Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw who was present at the function, showered praises on Alok.

“He’s made great contribution to developing a thought process, he’s a professional and the party is open to working with those who believe in putting the nation first, who want to work for the poor and consider development as a pilgrimage,” the minister said.

Alok was among the four JD(U) leaders who were suspended for alleged antiparty activities in June last year.

The leaders had chosen to support senior party leader and former union minister RCP Singh who was denied a re-nomination to the Rajya Sabha by JD(U) convenor and Bihar chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
